Carlos Silva Discusses World Team Tennis and the Celebrity All-Star Match at La Costa


Carlos Silva, President and CEO of the World Team Tennis (WTT) association sits down with Richard to discuss one of Richard’s favorite subjects, tennis, and the WTT Celebrity All-Star Match which kicks off the 2020 WTT season. The match showcases the WTT’s elite stars on March 1 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa. They discuss the history of the WTT, the All-Star event and the unique WTT match format in which men and women compete together using no-ad scoring which keeps the games moving faster.

Building on a pulsating 2019 WTT season in which its champion was decided on the last point of the WTT Final, WTT is serving up a new twist for its 45th season with a spectacular All-Star event at the La Costa Resort & Spa featuring many of the best American tennis players. WTT introduced professional team tennis to the world in 1974 and was co-founded by Billie Jean King. WTT is one of five active U.S. pro sports leagues that has been in operation for over 40 years, along with the NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB.

Prior to joining WTT, Silva served for four years as League President of the Professional Fighters League (PFL), and CEO of World Series of Fighting (WSOF). He was the architect of the turnaround at PFL with the creation of the first MMA League Format and subsequent rebrand following the sale of WSOF to a new ownership group led by Donn Davis.
